Abstract
The main features of the temperature variation of the magnetic inelastic scattering of slow neutrons in iron, recently measured by Palevsky and Hughes, are accounted for, by use of a theoretical description of the scattering in terms of the correlation between pairs of spins at different positions and different times. Proofs will be given in a later paper devoted to a general discussion of space-time correlations and of their use in scattering theory. Keywords
