TESTOSTERONE AND DIHYDROTESTOSTERONE LEVELS IN GUINEA-PIG TESTIS DURING EMBRYONIC DEVELOPMENT

Abstract
The fetal guinea pig testis synthetizes testosterone [T] and reduces it to 5 .alpha.-dihydrotestosterone [DHT]. From the period of gonadal differentiation (day 23) up to the beginning of the sex ducts differentiation (day 29) was characterized by high levels of testicular T and DHT.
