Abstract
The existence of a preferred axis in space, called the tachyon corridor, has recently been proposed in order to generalize the one-dimensional causal theory of tachyons to three dimensions. We use this theory to derive the general transformation equations between inertial frames with superluminal relative velocities in a three-dimensional space. The kinematics of tachyons, as well as luxons emitted by them, are then worked out and several characteristics of the tachyon corridor follow from them. These provide the means for determining the direction of the tachyon corridor. Keywords
