Abstract
Amitrole appears to block light-induced plastid development which involves the synthesis of proteins and lipids for lamellar formation. However, membrane formation in dark grown proplastids is not affected. Other natural or synthetic bleaching agents also seem to inhibit plastid development at a stage similar to amitrole, that is, at the proplastid stage.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
