Abstract
Electrofishing stimulated a tenfold increase in total macroinvertebrate drift in an experimental stream channel. While nearly all aquatic taxa exhibited elevated drift rates during shocking, turbellarians and chironomids showed the greatest total increases. A few taxa were relatively unaffected. Except for the Chironomidae, benthic invertebrate biomasses were not significantly depressed immediately following electrofishing. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
