Abstract
The number of pages on which scholars were cited in eight recent social psychology texts was used as a measure of eminence. This article describes the technique, lists the 199 social psychologists identified as the most eminent, and provides biographical information about them. Finally, the article presents evidence concerning the reliability and validity of textbook citations as an index of eminence.Keywords
