Abstract
The adsorbate-substrate system Te-W(211) is studied in the temperature and coverage range 100<Tc(2×4)(Θ=1/4) and p(2×1)(Θ=1/2) can be described by a domain-wall lattice. The melting and disordering behavior of the system is extracted from a profile analysis of the diffraction features and discussed in terms of a simple theory of the domain-wall lattice in a uniaxial system with strong substrate potential and asymptotic power-law lateral interactions. Keywords
