Abstract
The first-order capture theory satisfying Coulomb boundary conditions has been extended to describe electron screening for a multielectron target in a consistent and realistic manner. The results of explicit calculations for p+He, C, and for +Li are presented and are compared with those of standard Coulombic screening procedures.
