Influence of X-rays on Respiration of Nuclei of Fowl Erythrocytes.

Abstract
A dose of one million r X-rays was shown to stimulate O2 uptake of both the whole fowl erythrocytes and their isolated nuclei. This dose of X-rays caused an increase of O2 uptake for the nuclei which was 4 times that of the whole erythrocyte. This effect was masked when the nuclei were suspended in fluids containing albumin or hemo-lyzed blood.
