Abstract
To the Editor: Menstrual regulation is the term used to describe treatment of a menstrual period delayed up to 14 days to assure that a woman is not pregnant. A number of treatments have been suggested, including prostaglandins, intrauterine application of strong iodine solution (Lugol's solution) and high doses of vitamin C. The most common procedure is to aspirate the superficial endometrium and any products of conception through a small-diameter flexible cannula, which obviates the need for anesthesia or dilatation of the cervix.Performing menstrual regulation is contrary to traditional teaching that termination of an unwanted pregnancy should be initiated . . .Keywords
