Abstract
As employment opportunities diminish in academic and non‐academic vocations, training in speech communication must be made marketable. A survey of businesses and governmental agencies reports that a widespread awareness of communication problems exists within industry. There is only minimal interest, however, in employing personnel specifically trained to deal with these communication problems. Keywords
