Abstract
Nevoid basal cell carcinomas were found to have their origin in the epidermis and the upper part of the hair follicle. The early epitheliomatous proliferations from the epidermis and the early structure of these tumors were found to be similar to those described for the nonnevoid basal cell carcinomas. The pits of the hands apparently represent a localized retardation of the maturation process of the basal cells. The histologic features of an epithelial cyst from the palm, of ectopic calcium deposition of the cutis, and the electron microscopic views of the tumor cell masses are described. Keywords
