Abstract
Following egg laying in rose hips [Rosa virginiana Mill.], females of R. basiola (Osten Sacken) deposited a marking pheromone on the fruit surface which deters repeated oviposition attempts by other females into that fruit. R. basiola did not recognize the marking pheromone of R. pomonella (Walsh), which also infests rose hips, while R. pomonella exhibited partial recognition of R. basiola''s marking pheromone. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
