Experimental Infection of Southern California Mosquitoes with Wuchereria bancrofti

Abstract
Using a Negro from Virgin Is. as a source of microfilariae, the mosquitoes of southern California were studied for their infectibility. The infective stage of the larva was found to develop in Culex quinque-fasciatus, C. erythrothorax, and C. tarsalis. 6 other spp. either did not allow complete development or would not feed on the human subject.
