Synthesis and Spectroscopic Properties of a Strapped Nickel(II) Complex with Tetraaza[14]annulene Containing an Interactive Pyridine Group

Abstract
The reaction of (6, 8, 15, 17-terramethyldibenzo[b, i] [l, 4, 8,11] tetraazacyclo-tetradecinato)nickel(II) (tetraaza[14]annulene nickel(II)) complex with 3, 3′-(2, 6-pyridinedioxy)dibenzoyl chloride hydrochloride afforded the corresponding strapped nickel(II) complex containing an interactive pyridine group. The mass spectrum indicated a prominent parent peak at m/z 743 (58Ni). The infrared spectrum showed the presence of the C=O stretching band at 1660 cm−1 and of the C-O-C stretching bands at 1055 and 1225 cm−1 The structure of the strapped complex was also confirmed by the elemental analysis, the electronic spectrum, and the proton NMR spectrum.Keywords
