Longacting Steroid Preparations

Abstract
For most types of steroids, there exist long-acting preparations. For many of them the duration of action in humans is ill defined whereas the plasma levels vary very often highly from patient to patient. Shortly after injection plasma levels are generally extremely high, decreasing rapidly within the next days. When using such preparations one should be aware of these pecularities of long acting steroids.
