Abstract
ENTEROBIUS (formerly called "Oxyuris") vermicularis is the most common metazoan parasite of man. Despite its world-wide prevalence, its pathogenicity is very low, and it rarely strays from its usual habitat in the intestinal tract and the perianal skin.
