Methods of Melissopalynology

Abstract
In 1962 a second edition of “Methods of pollen analysis of honey” was issued by the International Commission for Bee Botany (J. U.B.S.). This was a revision of the first (1952) edition, and was needed because of the large amount of work on microscopical analysis of honey which had been done since Zander's basic studies in the 1930s. The present—much enlarged—edition is the outcome of a meeting on melissopalynology (pollen analysis of honey) held at Hohenheim in 1967*. The layout follows the “Standard layout of a standard method of food analysis submitted to the Codex Committee on Methods of analysis and sampling of the Joint FAO/WHO Food Standards Program (Codex Analys 68/8 June 1968)”.
