Abstract
We present the first experimental results which verify a quadratic relationship between the enhanced Raman scattering from Ag surfaces and roughness coupled surface-plasmon radiation. Additionally we show that the enhanced Raman signal results from an interaction with a continuum of excitations in the visible region of the spectrum and not from an interaction with the peak surface-plasmon excitation. Keywords
