Abstract
A switch array of order 4 × 4 suitable for high speed operation has been demonstrated using the electro-optic and carrier depletion effects in indium phosphide. The guided wave switch is suitable for monolithic integration with control electronics and lasers, detectors, amplifiers operating in the 1.55 μm wavelength window.
