Abstract
A new and fairly simple osmometer arrangement for the detn. of the colloid osmotic pressure of blood is descr. The osmometer is made of glass, and is in one piece. The membrane is produced and at the same time attached to the osmometer simply by dipping it into an appropriate collodion soln. By the addition of ethylene glycol to the collodion soln. the influence of the length of the dry-ing period upon pore size of the membrane is minimized. Agita- tion of the inner fluid is carried out by means of a magnetic stirrer. Four or six detns. can be carried out simultaneously.
