Abstract
An epizootic of a virus disease in a larval population of Persectania ewingii Westw. (Lepidoptera: Agrotidae) in South Australia is described, and possible methods of its transmission in the population are suggested. The symptomatology of the disease during its progress is outlined. A description of the virus and its structure follows. The etiology of the disease is described, and the paper concludes with a brief history of 5000 diseased larvae which were collected in the field.
