Abstract
A bistable optical device of a Fabry-Perot-resonator type with nonlinear feedback have been made using the PMN electrostrictor. The output light intensity of this device exhibits much more reproducible bistability with respect to input intensity than in the hard PZT piezoelectric device. Nearly constant transmitted power can be obtained over a wide range of input power. Keywords
