Abstract
The Lower Ordovician (Lancefieldian) graptolite, Clonograptus cf. kingi Benson & Keble, 1935, is reported from rocks mapped as Waiuta Group in Waitahu River, near Reefton. The fossils are the first known from rocks of either the Waiuta or Greenland Groups and provide the first reliable evidence of age. Their significance is briefly discussed. Keywords
