ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGN: A GOAL APPROACH.

Abstract
A goal typology was introduced as an aid to a team faced with the task of redesigning their organization. The design team related each of a set of goal statements to the typology; this produced a framework within which the goals could be ranked and operationally restated. The structure thereby imparted to the goal identification task was a principal factor in facilitating the subsequent redesign of the organization.
