Alopecia Universalis, Onychodystrophy, and Total Vitiligo

Abstract
Two patients with the syndrome of alopecia universalis, onychodystrophy, and apparent total vitiligo are reported. Extensive investigations including endocrinologic evaluation and viral cultures failed to reveal a systemic abnormality or evidence of an etiologic agent. These three entities are discussed and their etiological interrelationships considered.
