Abstract
The volume of literature on this subject, and the complexity of the problem, have increased greatly during the past decade. 82 references are cited and discussed in this review of the literature on this phase of the general subject, in an attempt to aid in bringing the field of research on insect transmission of plant diseases into at least an approximate focus so that the importance and promise of such research may become more evident. The data discussed are grouped according to the host plants of the diseases and the disease-like injuries in the following order: rice, corn, sugar cane, alfalfa, peanut, clovers, various host plants.
