Abstract
The effects on the pre-main sequence evolution of a star of one solar mass of inhibiting convection by arbitrarily changing the critical temperature gradient for convective instability are investigated. It is found that models which are largely radiative and hence of low surface temperature at large radii, can be constructed. The inclusion of a high surface opacity is found to enhance the effects produced by inhibiting the convection.
