Abstract
Fiber-diameter and denier distributions of various size tows have been determined with the Coulter Counter, an instrument consisting of a sensing unit and a digital counter. The methods developed for sample preparation, instrument operation, and efficient data reduction are described. A critical comparison of the results with results of other denier measuring techniques is made, and the advantages and limitations of the method at present and its future potential are discussed. Keywords
