Abstract
A purple color reaction is given by hexoses in the presence of skatole and HC1. The reaction is developed by ketohexoses at much lower temps. than with aldo-hexoses, so much so that the color developed at 40[degree] may be made the basis of a quantitative method for determining fructose in the presence of excess of other aldose sugars in blood and elsewhere. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
