Abstract
The growth of two strains of Plasmodium falciparum was observed in the classic culture conditions of Trager & Jensen, and also in suspension culture. For one strain, the latter method yielded only slightly more parasite material than the classic technique, whereas the growth of a second strain was considerably improved by it. Different parasite isolates may therefore vary in their physiological requirements in vitro .Keywords
