Abstract
The author studied via questionnaire psychiatrists' involvement with older patients in relation to their own ages and the nature of their practices. Older psychiatrists see a higher proportion of older patients, advocate more comprehensive treatment, and find older patients more interesting and gratifying. Psychiatrists in general psychiatry and those who have a primarily inpatient practice see the largest proportion of older patients. Keywords
