Effect of Copper Ions in Organic Synthesis. Part IV. Stereospecific 1,4-Addition of Some Alcohols to Phenylazostileene in Presence of Copper and Iron Ions

Abstract
In our previous papers1–3 some interesting effects due to copper (II) ions in organic synthesis were reported. A prelimi nary iwestifation cn the 1.4-addition of some alcohols to the szo-ene systern cfrhenyiatcstilbene showed that It was Dossi-2 leti ottain α(I-alkoxyohenylhydrazones as mixture of two synenti isopsrs wnen comer [II] sulphate nentahydrate oriron (II) sulct-ate eotahydrate was addad.
