Abstract
The omega-3 poly-unsaturated fatty acids are a group of three essential fatty acids found in oily fish (eicosapentaenoic acid [EPA], docosahexaenoic acid [DHA]) and in plant seeds and oils (α-linolenic acid [ALA]). These guidelines concluded that EPA, DHA and to a lesser extent ALA are effective in reducing serum triglycerides. This Recommendation is of an article referenced in an F1000Prime Report also written by Andrew Tonkin and Allison Byrnes.
