Abstract
An increased population of T. bimaculatus, the 2-spotted mite, on beans and potatoes was associated with increased dosages of DDT, benzene hexachloride, lindane, aldrin, and chlordan in the soil. Potatoes on plots treated with 119 lbs. and more of DDT per acre were killed by mites whereas potatoes in adjacent untreated plots were not damaged. Effects probably are due to changes in plant nutrition and composition induced by the insecticide in the soil. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
