Abstract
A method for calculating the Coulomb interaction between the electrons to the second order of approximation, due to Kessler, is examined and shown to require modification. This removes the discrepancy between the value obtained by Kessler and that obtained by Hylleraas and Midtdal using a variational method, although only very limited accuracy is obtainable. Keywords
