Abstract
Classical hemophilia, hemophilia A, is the most common coagulation disorder among dogs. Apart from a short communication the present report represents the first observed cases of a coagulation disorder among German shepherd dogs in Denmark caused by hemophilia A. This disease is important because there is a possibility of uncontrolled dissemination of the causative gene, both among companion dogs and among dogs used for practical service. In the following part I emphasis is placed on the pathophysiology, the laboratory tests and genetics.
