Abstract
The electric field gradients experienced by aluminium nuclei around a substitutional impurity are closely related to the conduction electron screening. In the case of Al-Sc alloy field cycling double resonance measurements confirm the presence of a virtual bound state well described by the Friedel-Anderson model and demonstrate a fundamentally different behaviour of Al-Sc, as opposed to Al-Mn and Al-Cr.Keywords
