Abstract
Ultrasound findings in pelvic examinations of 80 patients with a previous hysterectomy are evaluated. Ovaries were located low in the pelvis close to the superior end of the vagina in a large number of patients. An enlarged ovary contiguous with the superior end of the vagina may simulate the appearance of the uterus. Occasionally, the superior end of the vagina or cervical remnant (in patients with a supracervical hysterectomy) may be prominent and should not be mistaken for a pathologic mass.
