Abstract
The literature on etiocholanolone fever is reviewed. Case reports of 2 brothers suffering from etiocholanolone fever are described. In both patients the non-esterified etiocholanolone level of the blood was raised not only during the pyrexial attacks but also during the fever-free periods. During 1 fever period an extremely high non-esterified etiocholanolone level was found. Cortisone therapy neither shortened the fever periods or influenced the level of the non-esterified plasma etiocholanolone. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
