The stratigraphy of the Falls of the Ohio region is reviewed. It is suggested that the coral zone of the Jeffersonville Limestone is considerably older than the Brevispirifer gregarius and Paraspirifer acuminatus zones and probably correlates with the lower Onon-daga Limestone of New York and southwestern Ontario and with the Bois Blanc Formation of Michigan. The Swanville Limestone is believed to be a facies of the Beechwood Limestone. All the available type specimens of fossil corals described from the Falls of the Ohio region by James Hall, William J. Davis, George K. Greene, and other authors are redescribed and illustrated. The synonymy has been worked out with the result that more than two thirds of the species names previously proposed are proved to be invalid.
