Abstract
We review and discuss the dispersion-theory version of the PCAC hypothesis in the case of nucleon leptonic weak decays. The discussion is extended to the case of meson weak decays, and the feasibility of a direct test of the Goldberger-Treiman relation for the meson case is considered.Keywords
