Abstract
Rat kidneys were perfused with a glucose-free Krebs-Henseleit solution plus 4% albumin. Experiments were conducted with perfusate medium containing no substrate, 10 mM pyruvate, and 1.63 mM glutathione. It was found that glucose production from glutathione was nearly comparable to glucose production from pyruvate. Keywords
