Abstract
A solution to the linearized Boltzmann equation has been found that describes the galvanomagnetic properties of metals. The use of a vector mean-free-path function results in a solution for the conductivity tensor that is valid for any strength and orientation of the applied magnetic field. A discussion is given of the implementation of this theory to give a quantitative description of the galvanomagnetic properties of a metal when the Fermi surface and a model for the scattering of the conduction electrons are specified. Keywords
