Abstract
Forty years ago, in 1942, a worthy partnership was formed by Dr. Bruel and Dr. Kjaer to specialise in, what at the time could never have been envisaged as of such universal interest as it is today—the measurement of sound and vibration. A further indication of the value of the partnership then formed is that both founders are still very active members of the company, Dr. Bruel being Commercial Director, and Dr. Kjaer Director of Research and Development, both as accessible to their staff today as they were forty years ago. In that time they have seen a great deal of expansion, the Bruel & Kjaer factory now employing some 1700 people who work in an attractive two storey factory with the unique feature of having wooden floors throughout. The sales turnover exceeds £35,000,000 per annum and perhaps more unusual in these days it is still a privately owned limited company. Keywords
