Nature of Black Spot Defects in Quenched Gold

Abstract
The formation and annihilation of the small so called black spot defects in quenched gold are investigated in connection with those of the stacking fault tetrahedra. No discontinuity is found between the above two defects, and the black spot defects are concluded to be small stacking fault tetrahedra.Keywords
