Abstract
Early products from JERS-1 mission instruments, both optical sensor and synthetic aperture radar, have been analysed. This letter presents a brief introduction to JERS-1 imagery and preliminary results based on data evaluation. A number of problems with the imagery from both the optical sensor (OPS) and the synthetic aperture radar system (SAR) have been encountered, some of which can be rectified during image processing. Further analysis will be required before data can be used operationally.
