Abstract

Absolute differential cross sections have been measured for the

π^{+} + d \to p + p

reaction at pion energies of 40, 50, and 60 MeV. The angular distributions are fitted with the functional form

C_{0} + C_{2} {cos}^{2} θ + C_{4} {cos}^{4} θ

.
