A Parenchymatous Cerebellar Syndrome Following Protracted High Body Temperature

Abstract
A non-progressive cerebellar syndrome beginning abruptly following a protracted episode of high body temperature has been reported in the English literature 5 times since 1912. 2 additional cases are presented. None of the cases reported to date have come to autopsy. Pathological studies by others of the nervous system following heat stroke have, however, demonstrated preponderant damage to the Purkinje cells of the cerebellum.
