Abstract
A total of 250 consecutive [human] cases of AML [acute myeloid leukemia] in adults were diagnosed over 6 yr. Pretreatment blood and bone marrow smears and cytochemical markers were taken into account. All cases were reviewed by 3 different observers and classified according to the FAB [French, American and British Cooperative Group] criteria. The final diagnosis resulted from agreement of at least 2 observers. Some discrepancies occurred in the classification and are discussed. The prognostic implication of AML subclassification was assessed as the percentage of complete remission in 100 cases. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
